Lifesaver Quilt

Back in April my friend Zafeiro from Zarkadia Quilting Co. published her very first Quilt Pattern  and I had the pleasure to pattern test for her.
The pattern is called the Lifesaver Quilt and it features a combination of a bow-tie block and a 16-patch block.

The pattern comes in two sizes (64''x 64'' and 88'' x 96'') and 4 styles. I chose to do a 64'' square quilt in style 4 that has a unified background fabric and different fabric for each lifesaver. I used a medium gray for my background and a fat quarter bundle of  Blue Beauty collection by Art Gallery Fabrics for my lifesaver blocks.

This is a very straight forward pattern with detailed instructions that uses either yardage or fat quarters and solids or prints. As you can understand the possibilities are endless .

I love my finished quilt so much that I even decided to do free motion quilting for the first time.  I have to admit I was a bit scared that I would mesh it up and my quilting is not good but it's not that bad either.

My favorite features of the pattern are the printable tags and the color your quilt page where you can play around with ideas of color placement.

Overall I'm very happy with my finished quilt and I can't wait to use it when the weather is cold again.
You can find the pattern and more photos and details in Zafeiro's shop
